Fantasy art

I have always been fascinated by fantasy and science fiction art, literature and movies. And although I am inspired by many fantasy and sci fi artists I have always endeavoured to develop my own unique, bold and entertaining style. I have often been asked where I get my out worldly ideas from. There is no immediate answer to such a common question as I am interested in and inspired by many things in the natural world and my own wild imagination. The distinctive aspects of my art is my use of strong, bright colours, intriguing composition and intricate detail. Certain peculiar things keep popping up in my pictures such as bizarre flowers and surreal shaped plants, dragonflies, other odd insects and mushrooms and if there is anyone out there who can explain this please let me know.
